Johor Corporation’s Tuition Project was carried out with cooperation from the Johor State Education Department, targeting primary school students in the rural areas across Johor. In 2015, 20 schools have been selected to participate in this programme. Since its introduction in 2012, this programme has benefited more than 1,000 students. It has been organised with support from companies within JCorp Group, namely Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Johor Land Berhad and QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd.
The objective of this project is to improve students’ mastery in core subjects, mainly Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Science. The project is also aimed at improving the academic achievements of moderate performing schools while narrowing the achievement gap between students in urban and rural schools.
