The Corporate Services Division, undertakes all head office services such as monitoring and controlling, resource management, values development, quality and information management, company services and corporate communications. It also provides essential support and complementary functions in the Management of Unit Trusts (Amanah Saham Johor, Dana Johor and Amanah Saham Angkasa), property management, Pasir Gudang Local Authority and entrepreneur development.


JCorp has been entrusted with the powers and responsibilities of a Local Authority to manage and administer the area of Pasir Gudang since 1977. To date, To date, JCorp has successfully developed Pasir Gudang as an attractive industrial location for investors from many

parts of the world. It has a jurisdiction over an area of 8,791.62 hectres. Johor Corporation has successfully industrial township in the Southern Region, and is recognised as a model for ‘Healthy Industrial City’ acclaimed by the World Health Oganization (WHO).

Pasir Gudang is the most important industrial centre in the southern part of Peninsular Malaysia. Apart from being the largest centre for palm oil refining and downstream processing in Malaysia, Pasir Gudang is also the main focus for several other industries such as oil and gas, ship repairs and offshore fabrication, small and medium industries as well as high-tech industries.

With its residents reaching almost 50,000 people, and more than 300 factories employing over 30,000 workers, Pasir Gudang Local Authority (PGLA) has continued to be the main catalyst in increasing the pace of growth of the country’s economy especially in the industrial and tourism sector.

In addition, JCorp’s capabilities in carrying out its responsibilities have earned official recognition from the Federal Government. In 1991, it was chosen as a ‘Privatization Model for Local Authority’. It was the first Local Authority granted with ISO 9002 certification from SIRIM since 1997.

This tradition of excellence is continued with its achievement of the ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System certification in December 2001. This effort is consistent with the recognition of Pasir Gudang as a "Healthy Industrial City" by the World Health  Organization (WHO).
